Toyota Fortuner to Be Discontinued: Toyota Australia has officially confirmed that the Toyota Fortuner SUV will be completely discontinued from the Australian market by mid-2026.
The main reason for this decision is declining sales and customer interest is now shifting significantly towards models like the Hilux, Land Cruiser Prado, and Land Cruiser 300 Series.

Toyota Fortuner to Be Discontinued in Australia
Toyota Australia’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing – Sean Hanley, confirmed in a media briefing that the Fortuner is being discontinued and will be completely removed from showrooms by mid-2026.

The biggest reason for the discontinuation is low sales and the reason for low sales is that Australian buyers are now preferring to buy SUVs like HiLux, Land Cruiser and due to this the demand for Fortuner has reduced drastically.
According to official VFACTS data, from January 2025 to October 2025, the total sales of Toyota Fortuner have been only 2928 units whereas the sales of Fortuner’s rivals Ford Everest and Isuzu MU-X have been much higher, the sales of Ford Everest have been 21,915 units and the sales of MU-X have been 12,499 units.
